About
Making a Difference
The Nurture School’s purpose is to provide a therapeutic environment for students with emotional disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or other health impairments that may not be met in a traditional school or institutional setting. This will be achieved with maintaining small class sizes, 10 or less with one teacher and at least one paraprofessional. This provides a 5 to 1, or better, student to adult ratio which is lower than most public-school special education classrooms. The curriculum will be high interest material at the students’ individual levels, delivered in small groups or one-on-one instruction. Behavior programming will be focused on praise, restitution, and long term and short term incentives.
